Why DMSJoy

Why DMSJoy?

Every DMS claims to be 'modern' and 'cloud-based.' Here's what actually makes DMSJoy different — and where we're honest about what we're still building.

Architecture

Built for Electric Vehicles from Day One

Most DMS platforms added EV support as a module on top of a 20-year-old ICE data model. DMSJoy was built EV-first — the core data model treats battery serial numbers, motor identifiers, inverter IDs, and controller numbers as first-class entities with independent lifecycles, warranty terms, and service histories.

This isn't a cosmetic difference. When a legacy DMS stores a battery serial number as a text field on the vehicle record, it can't track that battery's State of Health over its multi-year warranty, can't link it to claims independently of the vehicle, and can't handle battery swaps for Battery-as-a-Service models. DMSJoy can — because the architecture was designed for it.

Capability DMSJoy Legacy DMS with EV Module
Battery as independent entity Text field on vehicle
SoH degradation tracking Manual / external
Independent battery warranty Tied to vehicle warranty
Motor / inverter / controller serials Native fields Custom fields

Compliance

Compliance Built In, Not Bolted On.

Auto dealerships operate in some of the most regulation-heavy environments anywhere — and the regulations vary materially by country. Every vehicle sale touches tax / e-invoicing, vehicle registration, and potentially EV-subsidy program workflows. Every service interaction generates tax-compliant invoices. And modern privacy regulations — GDPR in Europe, CCPA / CPRA in California, DPDP in India, LGPD in Brazil, and counterparts in many other markets — require consent management, data minimization, and timely breach notification for all customer data.

DMSJoy doesn't treat compliance as an add-on module you buy separately. Compliance is woven into every workflow, configurable per region, and updated as the rules evolve:

Tax & E-Invoicing

Configurable for regional tax regimes — VAT, GST, sales tax, e-invoicing networks (NIC IRP, ClearTax, Peppol-compatible providers, and more). Tax-return preparation, input-credit reconciliation, and threshold compliance monitoring per region.

Vehicle Registration Integration

Vehicle registration verification, ownership-transfer documentation, and driving-licence validation through regional registration authorities — Vahan / Parivahan in India, DMV interfaces in the US, KBA in Germany, and equivalents in other markets — via licensed aggregators.

EV Subsidy Programs

Identity-verified buyer KYC at point of sale, e-voucher generation, subsidy claim tracking, and reconciliation with OEM-level allocation. Configurable per program — PM E-DRIVE in India, IRA-driven state and federal credits in the US, EU national EV grants, and others.

Modern Privacy Regulations

Customer consent capture at every data collection point. Data-minimization controls. Right-to-erasure workflows. Breach-notification readiness. Audit-trail documentation supporting GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), DPDP (India), LGPD (Brazil), and similar regimes.

Security

Your Data. Protected. Where You Need It.

DMSJoy is cloud-native — not an on-premise system migrated to the cloud. This matters because true cloud architecture provides per-OEM data isolation, automatic backups, disaster recovery, and security patches without dealer IT involvement.

All data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Every OEM's dealer network operates in a completely isolated data environment — no co-mingling of data between tenants. Data residency is configurable by region, so your customer data stays where you (and your customers' regulators) need it to stay.

Role-based access control provides eight pre-built roles with custom role creation. Every action — create, read, update, delete — is logged with user identity, timestamp, and IP address. Multi-factor authentication is available for admin accounts. Session auto-timeout protects unattended terminals.

Automated daily backups with 30-day retention. Disaster recovery with RPO under 1 hour and RTO under 4 hours.

Expertise

We Understand Dealerships. Not Just Software.

DMSJoy isn't built by a generic software company that decided to enter automotive. It's built by a team that has spent years working with OEMs, understanding how dealerships actually operate — the chat groups between service advisors and parts managers, the spreadsheets tracking transit vehicles, the paper job cards that get lost, the warranty claims that expire because nobody checked eligibility.

OEM-Dealer Dynamics

We understand the tension between OEM standardization and dealer autonomy. DMSJoy enforces what needs to be standard (compliance, data quality, process steps) while leaving room for what should be flexible (local pricing, service scheduling, team structure).

Regional Operating Reality

Not every dealership runs on fiber and an iPad. Many regional service centers depend on intermittent mobile connectivity. Sales executives often work from a phone, not a laptop. Customers prefer chat over email. We design for the operating reality, not enterprise software assumptions.

EV Operational Knowledge

We've worked with EV OEMs from their first 10 dealerships. We understand battery warranty anxiety, government-subsidy program headaches, the HV technician shortage, and the challenge of selling EVs in markets that don't yet have charging infrastructure.

Regulatory Landscape

Automotive compliance isn't static — anywhere in the world. Tax thresholds change, EV subsidy programs replace each other, privacy regulations get notified, registration workflows get digitized. We track these changes across the markets our customers operate in and update DMSJoy before they affect operations.

Pricing

Enterprise Value. Without the Enterprise Price Tag.

The enterprise DMS market runs on opaque pricing — multi-year lock-in contracts, per-integration taxes, per-API-call surcharges, and quotes that change with every customisation request. Global incumbents charge thousands of dollars per dealer site, every month. We don't think modern, EV-ready dealer software needs to cost like that — and we've built DMSJoy to prove it.

Legacy Giants
  • Opaque, quotation-only pricing
  • Thousands of dollars per dealer site, monthly
  • Per-integration and per-API-call surcharges
  • Multi-year lock-in contracts
  • EV support priced as a separate add-on
DMSJoy
  • Transparent, predictable per-dealership pricing
  • A fraction of what legacy vendors charge — without cutting corners
  • All integrations included — no per-integration fees
  • Month-to-month or annual — no 3-year lock-ins
  • EV-native data and configurable regional compliance in every plan

Built for the next-gen OEM

Cloud-native, EV-first, API-first — the foundation enterprise platforms wish they could rebuild from scratch.

Built lean

A focused engineering team without enterprise sales overhead. Our cost discipline shows up as accessible, transparent pricing — not as cut-down product.

No surprises, ever

Setup fee + monthly subscription. That's it. No per-integration tax, no API-call surcharge, no lock-in clause hiding in section 14.

We'll also be honest about what we're not. We're not the legacy market leader with thousands of dealer locations and decades of track record. We're not the global enterprise vendor your procurement team recognises by reputation. We're a focused team building a modern DMS for the OEMs that legacy vendors under-serve — emerging brands, EV manufacturers, and mid-tier OEMs who need enterprise capability without enterprise complexity, at pricing that doesn't require a Series B to justify.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How is DMSJoy different from legacy DMS market leaders?
Legacy market leaders carry decades of track record and large dealer install bases. DMSJoy is different in three specific ways: our data model was built EV-first (not retrofitted), our compliance modules are native to the platform and configurable per region, and our pricing is transparent with no per-integration fees. The legacy leaders are the right choice for established OEMs deeply embedded in those vendors' ecosystems; DMSJoy is built for emerging and mid-tier OEMs building modern dealer networks.
Is DMSJoy secure enough for enterprise OEMs?
Yes. AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, per-OEM data isolation, role-based access with audit logging, configurable regional data residency, and compliance with major privacy regimes (GDPR, CCPA, DPDP). We're pursuing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certification — our practices meet these standards today, and formal certification is in progress.
Why should I trust a newer company over established DMS providers?
Because newer means no legacy architecture to work around. DMSJoy was built cloud-native from scratch — no on-prem code migrated to cloud, no 20-year-old database schemas, no compatibility layers. Our EV data model, configurable regional compliance, and API-first design would be impossible to retrofit into a legacy platform without a ground-up rewrite.
Does DMSJoy work for ICE vehicles too?
Yes. DMSJoy handles ICE vehicles — two-wheelers, cars, commercial vehicles, tractors, construction equipment — with the same depth as EV. The platform is EV-first by architecture, but vehicle-type agnostic by design. Engine number fields, fuel type tracking, and emission compliance are all supported alongside EV-specific capabilities.
Which countries does DMSJoy support?
DMSJoy is built for vehicle OEMs and dealer networks worldwide. The data model and architecture are geo-neutral; regional integrations (vehicle-registration authorities, tax / e-invoicing networks, EV-subsidy portals, payment gateways) are configured per market during implementation. Talk to us about your target markets and we'll scope integrations and compliance accordingly.
